Found Voices

Two composers -- one instrumental (Duddell), one digital (Vear) -- will create a collaborative musical response to these environmental issues. Inspiration will be drawn from the many sonic properties found in these environments. The sounds of sea, ice, glacier, crevasse, wind, weather, animals and people will be recorded -- literally and figuratively.

 

At the heart of this piece will be the words and voices of school children; curiously connected by a straight geographic line. Through a series of workshops their responses to climate change will be recorded: they will imagine what lies in the future, they will record themselves at play, they will explore their own voice and journey on a personal musical experience.
